Cornerstone ... Personal Playlists
Our early work was influenced by Linda Gerdner who, in 1995 was the first to develop and test the use of personal music for non-pharmacological management of agitation. Whilst her focus was on Alzheimer's and related dementias our own lived experience tells us that being able to listen to our own personal music has benefits for all.
Our ENCORE project extends the work of Gerdner by:
providing resources to empower individuals, families and carers to create and manage their own playlists off the web in a wire-free environment.
selling our own bespoke "eSHUFFLe" as an attractive, affordable, safe, smart, wire-free personal music player. Proceeds of sales remain in Australia and are used to fund Australian community-based initiatives which promote the use of music in the prevention, treatment and management of brain related disorders.
